Health WARRANTY

Sunny Heart Doodles guarantees the health of the puppy at time of sale and against any severe or life-threatening hereditary defects until the age of 24 months. This Health Guarantee is only applicable to the original Buyer.

Buyer will have puppy examined by their Veterinarian within 3 days of receiving the puppy. If Buyer’s Veterinarian finds the puppy to have severe or life-threatening health issues, Buyer may immediately return the puppy along with a report issued by the Veterinarian and Sunny Heart Doodles will replace the puppy with another puppy from a litter with availability. The following circumstances are not considered a chronic or serious health issue: Bordetella, worms, ticks, fleas, mites, coccidia, giardia, or other parasites as they are common in dogs and puppies.

Any request for replacement must be made within the 3 day time period and failure to have the puppy examined by Buyer’s Veterinarian within 3 days will make this contract void.

HEALTH WARRANTY (non-transferrable)

  1. The Breeder guarantees the puppy is in good health, is up to date on immunizations appropriate for the puppy’s age and has had appropriate worming treatments at the time the Buyer takes possession.

  2. The guarantee does not include viral illness, infections, improper bites, hernias, hypoglycemia, intestinal parasites, giardia or coccidiosis, cancer, undescended testicles, kidney/bladder infection, grade 1-2 heart murmur, grade 1 luxating patella or endocrine disorders. It also does not include any illness due to the ingestion of foreign objects, food, chemicals, physical injury, or a low-quality diet in which a whole protein (not meal or by-product) is not the first ingredient.

  3. If it is determined the puppy has a genetic disorder or debilitating congenital defect within two years of purchase, the Buyer has the option to a replacement puppy from the next available litter or reimbursement of veterinary expenses related to that illness up to the purchase price of the original puppy and/or return of original puppy.

  4. If the puppy should die from a suspected congenital defect within two years of its date of purchase, an autopsy must be performed at the Buyer’s expense by a veterinary teaching hospital or state licensed DVM acceptable to the Breeder’s veterinarian. If the autopsy shows a congenital defect as the reason of death, the Breeder will provide another puppy of equal value to the Buyer. A written statement from the veterinarian must be provided. This warranty is void in the event of an indeterminable or inconclusive diagnosis.

  5. The Breeder has made a reasonable judgment regarding the eventual adult coat of the puppy as well as an estimated adult weight. However, as these are living beings, this judgment does not guarantee the eventual adult coat nor is there a guarantee of the eventual allergy-friendliness, degree of shedding, color of the coat or weight at maturity.

  6. Allowing the said dog to become overweight or obese voids this warranty.

  7. Any injury sustained by the said dog which may contribute to a health problem voids this warranty.

  8. The above warranty applies only to the above named Buyer/original recipient of the dog.

Conditions:

  1. If a hereditary disease is diagnosed, it must be designated severe or life-threatening, diminishing the quality of the puppy/dog’s life, and be confirmed by two independent Veterinarians. Findings will be sent to Sunny Heart including diagnostic data, x-rays, etc. and must be reviewed and agreed upon by a Veterinarian of Sunny Heart’s choosing. Sunny Heart reserves the right to have the puppy/dog examined by a Veterinarian of our choosing at our expense.

  2. In the case of hip dysplasia, proof by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) is required before any replacement/refund will be made.

  3. In the case of hip dysplasia, the Health Guarantee is void if the puppy’s primary diet has not been a premium food, and/or the puppy has been allowed to become overweight.

  4. In the case of any eye disease, the dog’s eye exam must be sent to the Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF) for judgment, and the statement confirming a debilitating disease sent to Sunny Heart.

  5. Puppy must have been kept current on yearly exams, heartworm tests and preventive and all vaccines, including rabies. This Health Guarantee will be void if Buyer is unable to provide complete and accurate copies of their puppy’s health care given on a regular basis.

  6. A dog that has been physically injured is not covered under this Health Guarantee.

  7. It is the Buyer’s responsibility to keep the puppy away from public places before they are fully vaccinated to reduce the risk of deadly viruses (such as Parvovirus). Failure to do so, should the puppy be diagnosed with a deadly virus, will void this Health Guarantee.

Specific Note:

  • Buyer understands that the following slight conditions are not considered serious or life-threatening and therefore are not covered in this agreement: umbilical hernia, undescended testicle, kidney/bladder infection, underbite or overbite, grade 1-2 heart murmur and a grade 1 luxating patella. Buyer understands that a replacement option is only valid when health problems are attributed to a hereditary problem and not due to accident or contagious and/or other illness.

If all of the conditions of this agreement have been met, and the Buyer desires to return the medically diagnosed dog, return shipping of the medically diagnosed puppy and shipping of any new puppy will be at Buyer’s expense. If the Buyer desires to keep the puppy, Sunny Heart will pay for all Veterinary costs for treatment up to the full purchase price of the puppy, paid to Buyer’s Veterinarian.
